Adventure in Oman for 7 Days
Day One
Arrival into Muscat. Meet and transfer to The Wave Intnl Hotel
Day Two: Muscat
0900 hrs
Proceed on a morning tour of the city.
Muscat offers the visitor a unique opportunity to witness a modern commercial centre existing in harmony with its traditional culture. With its natural harbour, Muscat means “Anchorage” & lies in a natural volcanic bowl. Our tour of the Grand Mosque (except Friday) & Bait Al Zubair Museum (except Friday) is a brief introduction that traces Oman’s history and development. Drive along the waterfront Corniche visiting the Fish Market & the colourful Muttrah Souq. We proceed for a photostop to the magnificent Al Alam Palace, official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos flanked by the 16th century Portugese forts Mirani & Jalali. (Dress code: Ladies fully covered and to carry a head scarf, men in trousers)
Stop at local restaurant for lunch
At around 1530 hrs transfer to the Marina to embark on a boat as we search the seas for Dolphins and Whales. Watching wild dolphins is a thrilling way to start the day and the lucky may even come across one of the many species of whales that can be found just a few kilometres from Muscat’s rugged coast. Not every trip guarantees a sighting, but you are sure to enjoy a trip out to sea and enhance your knowledge of nature’s most fascinating marine mammals.

Day Three : Muscat – Nizwa – Al Hamra – Wadi Nakher
Breakfast.
0800 hrs; This morning we visit the imposing Roundtower Fort. The neighbouring Souk is an interesting shopping venue with its intricately handcrafted silver jewellery and khanjars. From here we proceed towards the village of Al Hamra characterized by its mud houses and date plantations. Proceed to visit Misfah a pretty mountain village with stone dwellings still in existence. While heading for Jebel Shams stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul. Our next stop takes us to Wadi Nakher located in the depth of our deepest canyon.

Day Four : Nizwa to the Wahiba Sands
Breakfast.
Check out then depart for Jebel Akhdar "The Green Mountain". We proceed to Wadi Al Madeen From here a 36 km stretch of winding road takes one to Jebel Al Akhdar (2000 mts above sea level) the green jewel of the Al Hajjar mountain ranges, a truly unique spot in the Arabian Peninsula. Enjoy the cool climate up in the mountains.Al Jebel Al Akhdar is famed for its fruit orchards typically laid out terrace style along the slopes of mountains, which are endowed with natural springs and aflaj. The villages of Saiq, Wadi Bani Habib (the village of the old houses) & Al Ain dot the landscape. We depart for the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand and dunes rising upto 200 metres which are host to a variety of flora and fauna. The everchanging patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. Dinner & Overnight stay at the 1000 nts camp
Day Five: Wahiba Sands – Ras Al Hadd
Breakfast at the camp Enjoy a spot of dune driving in the Wahiba Sands, Take a turn off the main road to the scenic Wadi Bani Khalid with its deep blue pools of water fringed by the date palms which is an ideal spot to relax or enjoy a refreshing swim. Proceed to Ras Al Hadd and check into the hotel. At night we have a short drive to the Ras Al Jinz Scientific Centre where we are escorted to the beach by trained guides to watch the turtles nesting on the sands. Day Six: Sur to Muscat via coastal road
Breakfast. Proceed to Sur
0800 hrs, our first visit to the Sur Dhow Factory. Our next stop is The ruins of Bibi Miriam’s Tomb (photo stop) can be seen at the village of Qalhat. Visit Wadi Tiwi for a swim. Our next stop is the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. On clear sunny days while driving along the coast one might chance to see sharks in the deep blue water or fleet footed Gazelle sprint across the landscape. Return to Muscat by 1700 hrs approximately.

Day Seven: Departure

Departure transfer to Muscat International Airport for your flight back home
